Na terça-feira (08-09-2009 dd-mm-yyyy), fotografei o making-off da gravação do clip Empty Glasses/Full Heart da banda curitibana I Kill Kane.

A gravação ocorreu no interior da Prisão Provisória do Ahú – que atualmente está desativada, fundada em 1905, localizada no bairro do Ahú, em Curitiba, PR. O clip foi ambientado no interior de duas das quatro celas solitárias que ficam no que poderíamos chamar de porão do presídio. Segundo os funcionários de lá, as celas foram utilizadas na éoca da ditadura para torturar presos políticos. O ambiente é pesado, úmido, escuro e um forte cheiro – difícil dizer do quê (acho que é cheiro de presídio mesmo) – domina o ambiente.

Aproveitando a deixa da gravação do clip, entrei nos pavilhões e fotografei algumas celas, a cozinha, a portaria e outros ambientes.

Nos pavilhões, onde ficavam as celas tradicionais, o ambiente era um pouco diferente, mais iluminado (devido às grades), e o cheiro não era tão forte quanto no porão; a maioria das celas estavam vazias e com as paredes raspadas, mas algumas ainda apresentavam os beliches e a decoração feita pelos seus antigos hóspedes.

Enquanto eu e a Vanessa (minha namorada) caminhávamos no interior dos pavilhões e das celas, um sentimento de “algo esquisito” nos acompanhava, determinada hora, ouvimos passos perto de nós, e não havia mais ninguém conosco. Acredito que fosse nosso imaginário sendo afetado pelo ambiente pesado. Outras pessoas que também foram caminhar no interior dos pavilhões, ouviram grades sendo fechadas, ruídos incomuns e viram vultos.

O Marcelo é um agente penitenciário que trabalha fotografando detentos, foi ele quem viabilizou a entrada de grande parte da equipe. Ele acompanhou todo o processo do preparo do cenário até os últimos instantes de filmagem. Logo no início das filmagens, as baterias da câmera que eu estava utilizando acabaram. Como pessoa prevenida que sou, peguei as sobressalentes e voltei a fotografar. Logo nos primeiros cliques as sobressalentes arrearam também! De prontidão, o Marcelo ofereceu as baterias da câmera dele. Salvou meu dia!

Estou sem câmera e sem dinheiro nenhum no momento. Para conseguir fotografar este making-off, o Sando Daeckne me emprestou sua Fujifilm S5100.

Como o ambiente de gravação era escuro e eu não podia usar flash, algumas fotos ficaram levemente borradas, pois tive que utilizar uma velocidade de obturador baixa e grande abertura de diafragma.

On Tuesday (08-09-2009 dd-mm-yyyy), photographed the making-off recording of the clip Empty Glasses / Heart Full of the band curitibana I Kill Kane.

The recording took place within the Provisional Detention of Ahu - which is currently disabled, founded in 1905, located in the neighborhood of Ahu, in Curitiba, PR. The clip was set in the interior of two of the four isolation cells that remain in what might be called the basement of the prison. According to officials there, the cells were used during the military dictatorship to torture political prisoners. The atmosphere is heavy, damp, dark and a strong smell - hard to tell from what (I think that is smell of prison even) - dominates the environment.

Taking the cue from recording the clip, I entered the halls and photographed some cells, the kitchen, concierge and other environments.

In the pavilions where the cells were traditional, the atmosphere was a little different, lighter (due to grades), and the smell was not as strong as in the basement, most of the cells were empty and the walls scraped, but still had some bunks and decoration made by its former guests.

While Vanessa and I (my girlfriend) walked inside the pavilions and the cells, a feeling of "something strange" was with us, given time, we heard footsteps near us, and no one else was with us. I believe it was our imaginary being affected by the tough environment. Other people who also were walking inside the pavilions, heard and closed bars, unusual noises and saw figures.

The Marcellus is a prison guard who works photographing detainees, it was he who made possible the entry of a large part of the team. He followed the entire process of preparing the scene until the last moments of shooting. Early in the filming, the camera's batteries I was using ended. As a person that I am prevented, I took the spare and went back to shooting. During the first clicks the spare harness too! Readiness, Marcelo offered the camera batteries anywhere. You saved my day!

I'm no camera and no money at this time. To be able to shoot this making-off, the Sando Daeckne lent me his Fujifilm S5100.

As the recording environment was dark and I could not use flash, some pictures were slightly blurry because I had to use a low shutter speed and wide aperture diaphragm.
